Description
As part of our expanding Yaris GR product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our Closed Air Induction System suitable for track or fast road use.
Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving flow whilst maintaining low intake temperatures, which improves performance, response, sound and aesthetics within the engine bay.
Having previously designed a shielded induction kit for the Yaris GR model, we were keen to develop a more extensive intake package to offer further improvements.
Using our experience from developing and producing our WRC-inspired Closed Air Induction System (CAIS) for the Focus RS that is proven to dramatically increase power and torque, we embarked on developing an entire replacement air box carefully moulded to our design in a GRPcomposite material to help thermal efficiency.
Sealed inside is a large Group-A style cotton air filter that draws fresh air solely from the front intake, ensuring minimal heat soak issues and the lowest possible intake temperatures.
Our design also features a replacement MAF housing and rear intake pipe, both 80mm in diameter and finished in black powder-coated finish. The kit comes complete with high quality Pro Hoses silicone connectors, as well as all fixtures and fittings required for a simple installation.
The kit is a direct replacement that comes complete pre-built and ready to install. It requires no additional drilling or cutting to fit and comes with detailed fitting instructions.
Overall, the result is a complete kit that offers increased power, improved throttle response, heightened induction noise and a more pleasing look to the engine bay that is perfectly suited to the GR.
DYNO TESTED
Developed on our own comprehensively modified AIRTEC Motorsport Yaris GR, with this kit fitted we saw gains of over 5bhp more than our open filter induction kit, whilst thermal imaging showed it continued to repel heat build-up from the local area.
INDEPENDENT TESTING
Tegiwa Imports performed an independent air intake test on a Yaris GR fitted with an aftermarket GPF-back exhaust system. With the original air box in place the car recorded a base figure of 277bhp and 272.2ft lb of torque.
With our enclosed induction kit fitted, figures rose by an impressive 12.3bhp and torque by nearly 4ft lb, which impressed the testers: “Performance wise, this kit delivered. Peak figures saw a high of 289.3bhp and 275.9 ft. lbs torque.”
