Understanding engines is key to power gains…
The normally aspirated engine, whilst not the easiest of engines to tune can still benefit from up to 15% more power and torque by careful programming of various engine parameters within the ecu such as its fuel and ignition maps, and in some cases the cam timing can also be tuned within the maps.
In many cases, conventional tuning items such as exhausts, air filters and camshafts need to be optimised for the engine via careful ECU remaps. Engine remapping will almost always unleash further power from fitment of those type of items on a modern vehicle so always have you vehicles remapping done last. .
All our normally aspirated engine remaps are programmed to give a strong, linear power delivery right across the rev range.
Rest assured that we don’t just look for a torque and power peak to make the numbers look good. We aim for maximum safe improvements everywhere so the vehicle feels like it has a bigger engine. How is the extra power achieved?
The power and torque improvements above are all achieved by very careful matching of parameters such as fuel delivery rates & Ignition timing along with adjustments to maps that electronically limit torque, throttle response and cam timing.
